Hi Chris,
I was reading your “about” page to learn more about you. You know, I want to leave my corporate gig and start my own business too. I’ve been doing some research on the kinds of businesses people are starting and I’m looking into using my creativity with an Etsy shop. I’m really excited and equally nervous about getting things going.
I wonder if you can help me. What’s one thing that has helped you achieve the MOST and get to where you are today?
Signed,
Going for it!

Hey Going for it!
Yasssss!!!
Congratulations for Going for it! I am super excited for what the future holds for you! You are among the very few, who not only want more for themselves, but who is willing to take action to have it.
You are truly unique, trust me.
I can honestly say that a number of “things” have helped me achieve what I have to celebrate in my life. However, there IS one thing that I have to chalk this all up to…besides my belief in God’s guidance.
In a word…resilience.
You see, in almost every endeavor in my life, I’ve hit a wall, a pit, and an obstacle of some kind. We all do, by the way. However, not everyone learns to bounce, pivot and dust themselves off and try again.
I’ve made some good and some “interesting” moves in my corporate career, which taught me what to look out for the next time. When I began my business, I tried to go it alone and realized I might want to get a business coach to teach me what I didn’t know. I had some really good and some really bad coaches, but each experience taught me a powerful lesson.
I had some incredibly profitable years and some utterly scary moments and those were times I relied on my belief and my past to get me through. Now whether you have a belief, guide or some other source of inspiration in your life, I will honestly tell you that having resilience will be your touchstone.
When things are not going well, and it happens, you’ll need to find the inner strength and flexibility to find a way forward. If you “remember” the times in your life when you had to make a way forward, then you will recover faster. It’s why my mission is to “remind” you that you have had experiences that can help you bounce, pivot and dust yourself off when hit with an obstacle on your path. And the faster you remember, the faster you find the path forward.
“Remembering,” makes resilience your superpower.
So as you embark on this new journey, Going for it, let me suggest that you take a moment, grab a notebook and write down all the times when things went to crap and what you did to: move forward, turn things around, or just plain step over it. And as you begin the entrepreneurial adventure, keep that notebook handy.
It will reveal your inner resilience and brilliance and guide you, when down, to rise and see yet another day!
So proud of you and welcome to the entrepreneurs journey!
Truly, GO for it!
