Conversations: Waiting on the change

Ugh Chris!

Do you get easily frustrated and want to give up when you want to change something and it doesn’t work instantly?

Signed,

Waiting on the change to come

~~~~~~~~~~
Hey waiting…welcome to my world! lol
Of freaking course I do! And so does everyone else! You know, it’s that instant gratification thing…
The thing that’s interesting about this, that I had to learn the HARD WAY, was that nothing changes, until you do.
Doesn’t that just piss you off? lol
In the world of “law of attraction” and manifestation of what you want, you expect that if you think long, hard and positively about something, then BOOM there it is! Right?
No…
Think about the things in your life that took a while to show up. Think about what would have happened, if they showed up sooner than they did.
Ask yourself…
  • Would I have been ready?
  • Would I have appreciated it?
  • Would it have made a bigger difference earlier, than when it finally did arrived?
Let me give you a personal and painful example.
In 2008, I put my townhouse on the market. No…I was NOT watching the market crash and home sales tank. I just wanted to move.
At the time, I was thinking about moving to Tucson, Arizona. Why? Because I was in Connecticut and I was DONE with the cold and snow. I had been to Tucson and liked the heat and lifestyle. After a while, I found some drawbacks to moving there and kinda stalled, not knowing where to move. This likely delayed the sale.
Fast forward…
In 2012, I went to a marketing conference and met a young lady who I started following on social media. She was a pretty smart business owner and she announced that she was moving from California to Austin, Texas. She explained all of her reasons, with her carefully researched choice. I had NEVER considered Austin…so I did my own homework.
Once I landed on Austin, in 2013 the townhouse sold…it took FIVE YEARS!
It required me getting into complete alignment with where I wanted to go and why. As it turns out the timing, the weather and the move was so easy, that I knew this was meant for me.
I am so FREAKING HAPPY with the delay! I absolutely LOVE Austin and if what I wanted had happened instantly, I would not have had the joy and journey I’ve had.
Here’s my point…
Some things, Waiting, are delayed(not denied) because…
  • We’re not in the right place (yet!)
  • The thing we want isn’t in the right place (yet!)
  • Or it’s just about the timing…(it’s moving toward you!)
What I believe truly frustrates us is that we don’t and can’t know which or what it is.
When I get frustrated now, I look at a little wooden block sign, that sits in front of my TV and reminds me daily how to keep it in perspective.
The words on the block sign are:
Trust the timing of your life.
When I look back the things I “waited on” they have ALWAYS been perfectly timed.
It’s more than faith, it’s trusting that it’s delayed for a reason and that reason will serve, not hurt you.
You can (and I do) still get frustrated, Waiting…
And when you do, just remember…
Trust the timing of your life…
