Conversations: Time for a break?

Got a question for you Chris.

This is something that I tend to struggle with from time to time. So I wondered, how do you, personally, deal with overcoming procrastination?

Signed,

Is it time for a break?

~~~~~~~~~~
Well, is it time for a break, let me…wait, I’ll be right back…lol
Listen without a doubt, EVERYONE on the planet, procrastinates. So don’t let it be a “struggle.” Let it be a  part of life.
For me, procrastination is actually a “message.”
  • It could be my mind, telling me that it’s tired of all the processing it does, every moment of every day.
  • It could be my body, suggesting that I need to rest or to get moving so as to keep the heart pumping efficiently.
  • It could be my spirit, asking for attention on the peace I crave as part of a healthy existence.
So you see in this context, it’s NEVER a struggle…it’s a “message.”
Procrastination TELLS you something.
It tells you, more often than not, that you’re not focused on the thing you really SHOULD be focused on.
It tells you, “here’s your sign” that something else wants your attention, affection or focus.
There is NOTHING wrong with taking a break and allowing the “message” to be delivered.
There is EVERYTHING wrong with “powering” through and taking a victory lap for being a force of nature.
Why?
One, it’s not sustainable. You WILL burn out or your end result will be less than it could have been, had you taken a break.
Two, it’s not the way to treat your mind, body and spirit. And I know from experience, the toll will ALWAYS be paid. No matter what.
Three, this isn’t what life is really all about. It’s truly meant to include ALL experiences…those we love and those we don’t want to allow.
Choose to shift your view of procrastination, is it time for a break, and ALLOW it to tell you that which you may be avoiding…but which could give you tremendous results in the end.
Good luck!
Let life love you!
