Conversations: Simply Curious

Hey Chris,

Hoping to get some advice here. I’ve been on my self-growth journey for about a year now. I’ve done a number of meditation programs, read some books, worked with a therapist and actually have been able to make some meaningful changes in my life.

Having said that, I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the different resources out there. Now that I am trying to build some sort of routine, I am curious which mindfulness / self growth tools work best for you.

Signed,

Hello Simply curious!

Congratulations for taking that bold step on your self-growth journey to indulge in some powerful resources to support you.

It’s interesting that you say you’re overwhelmed with all the different resources out there. If meditation teaches us nothing, it is to “focus” on the here and now. I’m not attempting to shame you in any way, trust and believe me.

However, I want you to recognize that you have ALL you need, within you.

Go within and you’ll discover the routines that will serve to support your continued growth. While I’m  happy to share some that have worked for me, I will admit that how I found them is by going within…every time.

After visiting a spa in the 90’s where I “learned” to meditate, it changed my world. I say “learned” in quotes, because we already experience meditative moments when we’re doing other things, like…

  • Driving – yeah, I know crazy but true…You’ve likely been lost in thought, arrived at your destination and wondering how did I get here!
  • Doing routine housework, chores, etc. You just seem to “float” through each activity, taking on the next and looking back at your accomplishments proudly, never questioning how did that happen?
  • Exercising, especially walking. You seem to just get in the “zone” and there’s nothing outside of you and your body.

So we meditate all the time. The “practice” of meditating is what I learned. And that’s about giving your “focus” to time for meditation. In meditation, at least for me, it’s an opportunity to ask my Source to remind me of what I already know. Without fail, I receive.

It’s also a time when I talk to my body and ask it what it wants more of, like time off from exercising 4 days a week, a particular meal that would satisfy and even why something hurts or aches. I ALWAYS get an answer and adjust accordingly.

THAT, simply curious, is what I use to routinely, power my mindfulness and self-growth. I keep it simple, which therefore makes it easy as a daily routine for me.

There will ALWAYS be more resources created to inspire growth and flow on this journey. However, they will not ALL be appropriate for either who you are or where you are on YOUR journey.

Keep that in mind.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, ALL you need is within you, right now. Go there and allow yourself to be heard.

You’ll get something magical, every time, trust me.

~ Let life love you!
