Conversations: Full Plate

Hey Chris,

Do you ever find yourself in the situation where you have so much on your plate that when you eventually happen to have time, you simply cannot choose and so you end up not doing anything?

Signed,

Full plate

Wow full plate…a resounding YES!

You can imagine with a full time job and still managing Beat Self Defeat, I have a lot going on. My full time job is a bit insane managing two programs, instructors and students.

Beat Self Defeat is actually far more manageable, since I have blog posts to line up, and I try to do it for a full month in advance.

However, let me say this…

I can have a really busy week, Monday – Wednesday and then on Thursday I get so tired that I end up not doing anything. And this is when I actually have the time to do something!

I think it’s being overwhelmed, tired and just my mind and body saying, enough! Time for a break.

Hard charging, success-driven individuals who want to see results are prone to this habit.

Sometimes this works to our benefit…we get inspired by seeing things happening, checking things off the list, etc. It can actually energize us.

Then there are times when we just purely and simply need a freaking break.

I think that’s what you’re experiencing when you finally get to a place like this…you’re just numb.

Everything in you just, stops…

There is nothing you can do to push through it…and you actually shouldn’t.

Give yourself a break and reenergize your mind, body and soul.

Thank your spirit for giving you the message to engage in self-care, self-help and self-love.

Full plate, it’s a way of life if we’re driven to get stuff done. Just remember the balance that’s ALWAYS needed that allows you to get stuff done, period.

Enjoy the break, full plate…that’s what’s being asked of you…
