Hey Chris,
I am on a mission to improve me. My desire is to become a master of my time, to be purposeful in my activities and to stop being a spectator.
Signed,
Time master

Yes!!
Time master…you go!
I’m not so sure I see a question here, but I love where you’re going.
Maybe I can help with “boosting” your success!
One of the things I learned from a personal coach is to value my time.
She would tell all of her clients to put a dollar figure to their time and if they couldn’t recover it in new client revenue, then we needed to stop doing it. So things like cleaning the house, grocery shopping, etc. Your time would be better spent marketing for clients or serving clients.
If you are valuing your time, your activities are more purposeful as well. You’ll know that you have limited time so you’ll choose those actions that yield the greatest return.
And of course, all of this requires your active engagement, therefore you’ll not be a spectator but a true “doer” in your life.
Now, if you know me, you know I’m going to go to “the dark side” and warn you.
Being completely focused on mastering your time, activities and pursuit of all things “active” in your life will not fully “improve” you.
If you remain hyper-focused on mastering all of this, you may lose sight of the “purpose” that is driving you.
You see, it’s not all about the “doing” there’s a HUGE part about the “being.” And yes, my coach reminded us of this as well.
Being a “doer” is required when you want to measure your progress. However, if you’re not comfortable “being” as you do, you might get there, but you won’t stay there.
I was VERY focused and active when I first started my business. There were so many things to do, including travel so that I could meet and network with others across the country.
It was great the first two years! But then I started to question…why am I doing all of this? It’s not just the income, it’s not just the connections…so what is it?
I wasn’t “being” the entrepreneur I thought I was developing into. I managed my time and resources well but I wasn’t managing the partners, the activities, the next level I wanted to reach.
Essentially, I was like a duck on the pond…gliding along and feet paddling like crazy, below the surface.
I was getting somewhere but I wasn’t sure where or why. So…I didn’t sustain that focus and energy for long.
Around the last two years in business, I found my “true” groove and was doing exactly what I wanted. I wanted to speak and reach more people. Managing my time and activities to support “my groove” or “being” was far more rewarding. I made more money, worked with higher level executives and sales teams and truly enjoyed myself and my business…more.
Again, I congratulate you and salute you time master for knowing what you want, wanting to improve and how you want to get there.
Don’t lose sight of the “being” you are as key to your improving you.
It will make your journey so much easier and far more satisfying.
~ Let life love you!
