Hi Chris,
New year and all of that…
I want to be better this year.
In fact, I’ve been waking up earlier, meditating, reading, and working out. But then I just get into a rut again where I don’t feel well and stop for a while and then do it again.
How can I stop this spiral I keep falling into? This could be a great year for me!
Signed,
New year, new me

Happy New Year, new year, new me!
Let me applaud you for taking on this self-care, self-renewing approach to 2024!
And also, let me celebrate that you spiral out of this intense focus from time to time.
Yes, I said it…celebrate the spiraling out!
Listen, we’re all human and keeping the”pedal to the metal” long term, is unsustainable.
We need the space or “spiraling” to find new opportunities to grow and experience more of what you’re after.
I’ll give you an example of why you need to create the space.
I have a stack of exercise DVDs and VHS tapes on a desk in a bedroom. Every time I go in to do a workout, I’m hit with a ton of choices.
Do I do cardio, strength training, yoga, pilates, belly dancing, dancing… Well, you get it.
I can get so overwhelmed, that I check in with my body and ask…are you ready for a week off and we give it our all the next week?
Sometimes I hear…break, please! lol
But you know what, new year new me?
When I come back after a week off, I feel stronger, more energized and get better results…BECAUSE I took a break and created the space.
The same is true for you.
Don’t look at this as getting into a rut and starting again. Consider that you’re getting the message to pause or even stop.
As a result, you will gain greater zest and energy when you restart.
If you take that approach, throughout 2024, you will measure your progress in yards, instead of inches…trust me.
Embrace the space or spiral and look forward to the restart “with benefits”!
Happiest of New Years, new me!
