Conversations: End the victimhood

You know what Chris,

I have on my goals, to stop the victim mentality and I’m not sure if that’s what this is, but I just hate the feeling of giving in so much.

I just want to curl up in a ball and stay in bed all day sometimes.

Signed,

End the victimhood

Listen end the victimhood, the first thing you want to give yourself credit for is recognizing that you want to change something that isn’t working for you.

A true victim accepts their fate and lives (or dies) with it.

Therefore, you’re farther from a “victim” than you think.

Let’s talk about the “giving in so much,” aspect of your question.

What IS giving in so much?

Do you view walking away from a person or place, where you get to preserve your peace, giving in?

Perhaps you’re willing to let things go for the sake of a relationship, that’s not worth keeping?

Or, you’re dealing with personalities, circumstances or environments that are, frankly, not worth your time or energy?

You see, “giving in” can be a matter of perspective.

I know when I’m talking with someone, who either doesn’t get it or doesn’t want to get it, I step back and say…I’m done.

I’m not giving in, I’m just preserving my energy and happiness.

In all cases, end the victimhood, the first step is to identify those areas that are precious to you. The people, places and things that are worth fighting for or giving in for.

Once you have that sorted, then you’ll take a stand when needed and not feel like a victim when you’ve finally put yourself first.

It can be easier to curl up in ball and stay in bed, however, since you’re willing to ask, you’re willing to honor all of who you are…whether you give in or not.

Honor who you are and the victimhood ends.

You’re more than worth it!
