Ugh Chris,
What if you feel like you’ve done so much wrong in your past that you get discouraged from changing?
Signed,
Discouraged
~~~~~~~~~~
My dear Discouraged…there is NEVER so much wrong that you can’t change.
When I think about your question, I try to imagine what would be “so much wrong.”
If there is a genuine feeling of remorse in your heart and a desire to change, then the wrong is not as deep as you think.
Asking the question demonstrates that you want to change. So let’s start there and celebrate that perspective.
Next, let’s create a new perspective.
Everything and everywhere in life…changes.
Nothing. Nothing. Nothing stays the same.
From the time of the “wrong” to now, YOU’VE changed, whether you recognize it or not. So change is not off the table…because as I said…
Nothing.
What I would ask of you is two-fold:
- What is the lesson learned from the experience of “doing” wrong?
- How would you like that lesson to transform (i.e., change) your way of being in the world?
You’ll see that I close my responses to Conversations with, “Find the gift.”
Why?
Because I believe, and have seen in my own life experience, that even in the “bad,” “wrong,” or “challenging” areas I’ve gone through…there has ALWAYS been a gift.
The gift could be that lesson learned:
- Don’t do that again…
- Don’t engage with this kind of individual again…
- Don’t be so surprised…
Lessons galore!
If you’re willing to be open to identifying the lesson and USING that lesson to expand your awareness, actions, “being” then it’s wasn’t wrong.
It was a gift.
Be not Discouraged my friend. I truly believe that every challenge presents an opportunity to learn, grow and be, more than we were before. And we recognize that opportunity when we stop and ask the question…
What’s the gift in this?
Always remember and be encouraged, Discouraged, nothing stays the same. Change R Us… smile
You got this.
