Conversations: Clueless but committed!

Hi Chris,

I know that success is about a series of habits and routines that lead to the achievement of the goal. Smart, yes I am… 🙂

Yet, here’s where I can use your help. I am someone who struggles to keep healthy habits before reverting back to destructive habits?

I think I have a handle on it and then I somehow lose site of the goal and I’m restarting over and over again.

What’s up with that? Why am I sabotaging myself?

Help me get a clue…

Signed,

Clueless but committed

Dear Clueless but committed,

Congratulations Clueless but committed for having a drive to keep healthy habits!

I think after these last 2 years, many of us have sought out healthier habits to preserve our mental and physical states.

I embarked on an anti-inflammation approach to health and while it took a while to get the habit ingrained, I can’t see a reason to eat any other way. HOWEVER… I did…;)

Even with the best of intentions we can shift from our routines and habits along the way. And what’s wrong with that?

Barring anything hurting other people… NOTHING.

We have got to come to terms with this thing what we call, “life.” Sticking to one thing and one approach only diminishes who we are and what’s possible for us.

Even nature “finds a way” when the routine or habit is disrupted, right?

What makes us think we’re better or less subject to change?

I think it’s more important to be committed to making healthy choices while being open to diversity in all aspects of our mental and physical health. You can’t discover new and exciting  healthy foods, routines, etc. if you lock and load into only one approach.

Viewing something as a destructive habit, gives this negative connotation, power. Instead, viewing it as simply another choice,  one that can be changed, altered or improved upon, gives it “use” in your life.

Let me invite you Clueless but committed, to expand your perception of healthy and destructive and let it lead you toward what truly gives you more health and more life…and that is to embrace and “remember” choice.

That’s what gives life joy…
