Conversations: Looking for relief

Got a question for you Chris!

What have you tried to stop yourself from going over the same old stories in your head, you know…reliving past stories over & over that no longer serve you…..

What did you do?

Signed,

Looking for relief

Well, looking for relief, I may have an answer for you!

And it’s probably not the one you want to hear…;)

Ready?

It’s actually NOT a good idea to try to “stop the stories.”

Why?

For one thing, there is a “gift” in them that you’re missing, which is why they continue to surface in your head.

Side note: You know, one day I’m going to convince the world that what we experience, we’re MEANT to experience so stop trying to “stop” it.

Here’s the problem.

We look at it as something we shouldn’t do because the world tells us to be positive, to have a sunny outlook and not let anything get in your way.

That’s a recipe for depression, rejection and an incredibly unsatisfying life.

Trust me, looking for relief, if you give yourself over to these stories, allow them to just “be” they will release YOU!

You fighting to release THEM, holds them closer to you…

When you both give up the fight, the gift in what they’re meant to give you shines brilliantly. You’ll end up “blessing” the fact that the stories were part of your life.

When I find myself stuck in the same stories in my head, I let them be. I say to myself, they will pass and I’ll find the gift in this.

Within, minutes if not days, I can’t remember the story but I remember the gift.

The gift could be:

  • I just learned something about someone I didn’t know
  • I learned something about myself
  • I learned to approach things differently

Heck, maybe I just learned to stand up for myself!

You’ll miss the “gift” if you try to stop the stories, looking for relief.

I truly hope I got through and you now have the relief you’re looking for!

~ Let life love you!
