How do I stop the negative fearful thoughts I have? I know it’s impacting my business and my sleep at night.

Welcome fear-less thinker!

My first suggestion is that you remove the word “stop” from your approach.

When we try to “stop” something, we are resisting what we’re being given.

The negative, fearful thoughts are given to you, to simply…

  • make you aware of options
  • show you how powerful your thoughts can be
  • and spur you to action (even if it’s to reduce the pain of sleepless nights)

Listen, I get it. After running my own business for 6+ years, I had a boatload of negative, fearful thoughts that not only kept me awake at night, but impacted my days.

It actually comes with the territory.

The key is to use it to serve you vs. stop you.

Let’s say your fearful thoughts are about getting more clients, making payroll, growing your business.

That’s a lot!

So you want to focus on the most important driver…first.

If getting more clients delivers more money to make payroll and grow the business then that’s where your focus goes.

I recall many coaches advising me how to get clients. Use social media, they’d say. Send out emails too. Publish articles. All of that. You know what?

None of it worked for me.

When I stopped and asked myself what I most enjoy doing in my business…it was speaking. Few entrepreneurs enjoy it and it would help me stand out.

Speaking brought me more and higher paying clients than I’d ever had in my business. I got referral clients and more interesting clients to work with. And it was the key to paying the bills and growing the business.

This is why I want to encourage you to get your focus on. And do it in a way that works for YOU. Don’t do what you see others doing…they are not you and may not have the same goals.

If you’re working it the way that you enjoy, it will give you energy and you’ll unleash your creativity to attract more clients, faster.

I know you didn’t submit your question to get “strategy” advice, however, you can’t see the forest for the trees if you’re mired in the fearful, negative thoughts.

Let those thoughts serve you to shift your focus to:

  • what’s most important, right now
  • what will give you joy and get your juices going
  • inspire you to love your business even more, than the day you began

Don’t “stop” the fearful negative thoughts, remember they come with the territory.

Instead , USE them to show you the path to even more sleep-filled nights!
