Ugh Chris,
There is one BIG thing I would love to stop doing!
Shying away from things that are out of my comfort zone.
Suggestions please?
Signed,
Stop me now

Well, stop me now…welcome to the club! smile
It is human nature to stay IN our comfort zones. We find routine, safety and dare I say, comfort knowing where and what can happen.
Change, is difficult for everyone.
And don’t let anyone convince you that they THRIVE on change. It’s still jarring, no matter what, to have something different to do, see or feel.
I’ve experienced and even sought out change, a LOT in my life. I used to physically move every 2-3 years, sometimes outside of my comfort zone. Some people couldn’t handle that kind of change…packing, driving, etc.
But I looked forward to the next adventure…joyfully.
Now…at my age and stage of life? Not so much.
I like being settled and while I still like movement, I find it in other ways, because I’m so used to it.
Yet, today, I have truly found my comfort zone and there are parts of my life I now don’t want to change. So it’s natural to be there and want to stay there.
What drove me to change and move out of my comfort zone?
Possibility.
Even now in my current career, I’m looking for the next grade because of the possibility it will provide me. New skills, new contacts, new connections and more experience.
I try to find the gift in what getting out of my comfort zone could give me, and use that as the REAL reason for moving.
So, stop me now, take some time and identify the “possibility” that you could experience should you exit your comfort zone.
Is it…
- meeting new people
- having a new experience
- learning something new
- setting you up for bigger and better in the long run
Once you identify the “possibility” you’ll find the reason…and then…get your running shoes on! smile
It’s all out there for you, stop me know.
Don’t let the “possibility” of so much more, stop you…ever again.
