Hey Chris,
I had an epiphany the other day. I realized I would never get to where I want to go in life, if I stayed the same person with the same skills and abilities.
How do I create a plan or roadmap to get to where I want to go?

Hey need a plan!
My kind of question…smile
First, congratulations for the epiphany! That says you’re open and ready for something fresh and new in your life.
You’re absolutely correct. You can have something different/better if you are ready for it.
So the first thing I want to suggest is to clarify where you want to go in life.
If this first step isn’t clear you’ll end up acquiring skills and abilities, that while useful, won’t bring you closer to that which you seek.
Once you’re clear on your goal, then identify what skills and abilities are needed when you are there.
Next, do an inventory of your current skills and abilities to see how awesome you already are.
Finally, you should be able to see the gap, if any, between what you need when you’re at your goal and what you currently have.
When complete, you’ll be able to more easily create a plan/roadmap to get there.
I’ll give you an example of how this works, from my own life.
I wanted to be a career coach for years. I located a training program that would help me achieve this goal. While in training, I realized this was a big shift from the way I helped people when I was a manager.
I needed new skills and abilities to become the coach I dreamed of being.
After identifying what skills and abilities were needed once I was a coach, and what skills and abilities I already had, I focused in my training, to close the gap.
This approach provided a clear plan and roadmap to be successful.
So you can do this, need a plan!
There is one word of caution, really a reminder.
This is a LIFELONG process.
Once you get to where you want to be, you’ll know that there is now more available to you…and so the cycle begins again.
But now, you’ll have a clear approach to designing your next plan/roadmap!
You got this!
